Aishwarya Rai plays the female lead opposite Rajnikant in both the versions.The actor says he accepted such a tough and challenging role only because of his trust in director Shankar, with whom he gave the blockbuster "Sivaji"."Shankar is an excellent technician and one of the best directors of India who can mix the class and commercial elements very well. I did 'Sivaji' with him and I trust him completely, so I agreed to do the film - else I would have not done the film as it is a very tough and challenging role," said Rajnikant.First Kamal Haasan was supposed to do the role and even Shah Rukh Khan was approached.When asked about that, Rajni enthralled the press with his witty reply: "'Daane daane pe likha hai khane wale ka Naam'."The music was launched by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and his entire family was present on the occasion."Thank you so much for inviting me and giving me the honour and privilege of releasing the audio of this much talked about film" said shankar.

Endiran - Telugu producers demand 30 crores !!!

The filmmakers of Endhiran - Telugu version are demanding Rs 30 crores for the rights of dubbing version of the film in Telugu. It is more than the Rs 20 crores that the Telugu version of Rajnikanth super hit flick ‘Sivaji-The Boss’ had been sold and so the Telugu producers are treading the line with caution. But Kalanidhi Maran, the producer of ‘Endhiran—The Robot’, argues that the latest film has unparalleled gizmos and high tech sequences and the price was justified. In any case, the film in Tamil version has cost more than Rs 100 crores to produce it and so he does not want to sell it without ensuring that the movie had already recovered its cost through various deals. The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Aishwarya Rai has done superb job in the film and even Rajnikanth praised the lady to skies during its music release in Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur. Rajnikanth even joked that if Amitabh Bachchan, her father-in-law, was watching from somewhere, he would have asked him to stop praising Ash so much. But on a serious note Rajni termed Aishwarya to be a born artiste.

When Ash touched Rajinikanth’s feet

The former Miss World, Ash stunned everyone when she touched actor Rajinikanth's feet in the presence of the cast and the crew of the film, Endhiran. Aishwarya’s gesture surprised Rajinikanth too and he lifted up Ash and seeks his blessings. Rajini said the actress that he is like her father-in-law.
Aishwarya was emotional after shooting two years with Rajini for ‘Endhiran’. Recently, producer Kalanidhi Maran had organized a party for cast and crew of 'Endhiran'. Shankar in his blog posted "Our producer Mr. Kalanidhi Maran gave a big party on July 9th for the crew. In the presence of our honorable Central minister Mr. Dayanidhi Maran, I attended the party along with Rajini sir, DOP Rathnavelu, Resul Pookutty, Editor Antony & my crew. Endiran Story

Endhiran earlier titled as Robot, is a forthcoming science-fiction Tamil–language film being directed by S. Shankar. Southern superstar Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Bachchan are playing the main lead in which Rajnikanth would be seen in a double role. This film has a huge budget after Aishwarya Bachchan’s Jeans which was directed by S.Shankar.
We spoke to a source close to the film,“The film has Rajnikanth playing two roles – scientist and the robot and its name is Endhiran, which is created by him. This film will focus on the situation which forced Rajni to make a robot and then his relationship with it and then the wishes he want the Robot to fulfil.”
Further about the plot
“The film is set in 2200 AD and he is a famous scientist who is in love with Aishwarya. Later on he is given a mission of creating robots but at certain point of time there is a big twist which is the USP of Endhiran. Later on he tries to bring back his creation but realizes that a robot which he had made is very hard and has started falling in love with the girl he loves and then the chase begins among the three and so on.”

Is ARR's Magic missing in Endhiran ?

He is known as the Mozart of Chennai and it was few years back when he came in as a silent prodigy but soon took the entire world by storm and also won two Oscars. He is none other than A R Rahman and just like any other celebrity, he seems to have lost grip of his tunes. Apparently, Rahman composed the tunes for two of the most ambitious movies in the south. While one is ‘Komaram Puli’, the other is the much hyped ‘Robo’. However, reports have arrived from market and it says that songs are not received well by many. Even the much talked about ‘Raavan’ also misfired musically. Many are now getting into this question as to whether Rahman’s magic is out. While this is one side, the other side is that Rahman has now begun to concentrate on the international circuit and due to this, he is unable to connect with the Indian masses. At one end, some say that he is a level headed music director with success not his first priority. Well, it is about time he opens his mouth and reveals something or let his music do the talking.
